Beachside Brawl is a summer cooking competition series that premiered on Food Network on June 19, 2022. The show pits East Coast chefs against West Coast chefs to settle which coast makes better beach food. It ran for two seasons, both airing during the summer months, before ending in 2023. Episodes are also available to stream on discovery+.
Each season features two teams of four to five professional cooks, led by a chef-mentor who cooks alongside their team. Challenges take place on the beach and boardwalk, often built around games like balloon pop or softball toss. Teams cook everything from pier-food classics to Fourth of July feasts, with the lowest-performing cook eliminated after each round. The season culminates in one cook being crowned “Best of the Beach” and winning a beach getaway.
Antonia Lofaso hosts the series, overseeing each challenge and announcing eliminations. She has hosted both seasons of the show, from its June 2022 debut through its 2023 finale. Lofaso has cited her East Coast birth and West Coast upbringing as her tie to the show’s rivalry premise.
In Season 1, Tiffani Faison led the East Coast team, and Brooke Williamson led the West Coast team. Season 2 introduced new team captains, with Eric Adjepong leading the East Coast and Brian Malarkey leading the West Coast. Contestants were drawn from working chefs across the country, including Season 1’s Kaleena Bliss, a former Chopped champion. Both seasons emphasized regional pride over past reality-competition pedigree among the competing cooks.
