Rewrapped

Three chefs compete to recreate a classic American snack from scratch, then transform it into an original dish.

Rewrapped is a reality cooking competition that originally aired on Food Network. It premiered on April 21, 2014, as a competitive spin-off of the network’s long-running series Unwrapped. The show concluded its run on December 1, 2014, after producing 26 episodes across two seasons. This fast-paced series offers a nostalgic look at beloved snacks while challenging professional culinary skills.

The programming centers on a two-round gameplay format in which three contestants face off with a single iconic snack. In the first round, known as “Recreate,” chefs must duplicate the featured snack from scratch using only their palates and kitchen tools. This precision test requires them to match the exact taste, texture, and appearance of products such as Twinkies, Goldfish, or Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies.

The second round, titled “Innovate,” shifts from imitation to pure creativity. Chefs are tasked with incorporating the original snack into a completely new, original dish that surprises the judging panel. Contestants have crafted unique entries like Cheddar Goldfish-stuffed lobster or Thin Mint-rubbed duck breast. The chef with the highest total score across both rounds is crowned the winner and receives a year’s supply of the snack.

Singer and actor Joey Fatone served as the primary host of Rewrapped during its run. He was joined by head judge Marc Summers, who famously hosted the original Unwrapped series. The judging panel also featured Jenny McCoy in a recurring role, along with other guest judges such as Sunny Anderson and Jeff Mauro.

Over its two-season tenure, the show highlighted a wide variety of snacks ranging from savory Lay’s Potato Chips to sweet Hostess Sno Balls. While it no longer produces new episodes, the series remains a favorite for fans of food science and retro brand history. As of early 2026, viewers can still find past episodes on various streaming services, including Discovery+ and Max.
