Braun grew up in Warren Township, New Jersey, and graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School in 2007. He attended the University of Miami, earning a double major in broadcast journalism and sports administration. As a student, he worked as an ESPNU Campus Connection reporter and hosted multiple shows for University of Miami TV. This was followed by college basketball play-by-play work for ESPN and hosting duties on ESPN.com’s Heat Index covering the Miami Heat.

Braun joined MLB Network in 2012 and NHL Network in 2015, becoming a studio host and reporter on shows including MLB Tonight, MLB Now, The Rundown, High Heat, and NHL Now. He also called play-by-play for MLB International’s 2021 World Series broadcast. Earlier, Braun reported for CBS Sports Network, hosted Fantasy Football Today, and anchored Westwood One’s coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics.

In 20203, Braun left MLB Network and NHL Network to launch Foul Territory, a daily baseball podcast and video show. The program features analysis, betting takes, and interviews with current players, and streams as FTLive online. He serves as the show’s executive producer and co-host alongside former MLB players AJ Pierzynski and Erik Kratz.
