This Week

This Week with George Stephanopoulos is a long-running Sunday morning news and public affairs program that airs on ABC. The show premiered in 1981 under the title This Week with David Brinkley and was originally anchored by veteran journalist David Brinkley. Over the decades, it has become one of the leading Sunday political talk shows in the United States, offering interviews with major political figures and policymakers.

The program centers on one-on-one interviews with top elected officials, cabinet members, lawmakers, and global leaders. It also features roundtable discussions with journalists and political analysts who break down the week’s biggest stories. Coverage often intensifies during presidential campaigns, midterm elections, and major global events, making the show a key platform for national political dialogue.

In addition to headline interviews, This Week provides investigative segments and policy-focused reporting from correspondents across the country and abroad. The program has also been at the forefront of several major international and domestic storylines. For example, it provided exclusive coverage of the capture of Nicolas Maduro and the subsequent diplomatic shifts in South America and has also led reporting on the fallout from the Department of Justice’s release of significant Jeffrey Epstein-related documents.

This Week is hosted by George Stephanopoulos, who has served as an anchor since 2012 (he also hosted the show between 2002 and 2010). Stephanopoulos is joined by co-hosts Martha Raddatz and Jonathan Karl, as well as a rotating roster of panelists, with regular contributors such as Donna Brazile, Sarah Isgur, Rachel Scott, and Reince Priebus. Former hosts include David Brinkley, Sam Donaldson, Cokie Roberts, Jake Tapper, and Christiane Amanpour.
