Bobby Flay’s The Line

Bobby Flay’s home team faces off against real restaurant kitchens in blind-judged, live dinner service.

Bobby Flay’s The Line is an American cooking competition series that premiered on Food Network on September 8, 2026. Developed by Flay’s production company, Rock Shrimp Productions, the show dramatizes the pressure of real restaurant service. The series joins Beat Bobby Flay and Tournament of Champions as another Flay format that focuses on the cooking process rather than just the final plated dishes. New episodes are available for streaming on HBO Max the day after they air.

A fixed home team faces a different visiting restaurant kitchen in each episode. Both sides prepare 240 plates for 40 diners across a 90-minute dinner service. Diners rate each dish up to five stars without knowing which kitchen prepared it. Teams see the scores in real time and can adjust their cooking mid-service.

Bobby Flay serves as the show’s host and leads the home team, which includes chefs Antonia Lofaso, Michael Jenkins, and Claudette Zepeda. Lofaso expedites orders for the kitchen, while Jenkins and Zepeda round out the line. Laurence Kretchmer, Flay’s longtime business partner, serves as the show’s restaurant manager, relaying diner feedback to both kitchens. The visiting team changes weekly, drawing on outside chefs and the restaurant’s own staff.

Marcus Samuelsson led the visiting team in the series premiere. His restaurant, Hav & Mar, challenged Flay in a seafood-themed service. Later episodes featured Leah Cohen of Pig and Khao, Spike Mendelsohn of Good Stuff Eatery, and Jonathon Sawyer of Kindling. A recurring VIP-table twist lets a guest diner award bonus points that can decide a close service.
