Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Jimmy Kimmel Live! is an American late-night talk show that premiered on January 26, 2003, on ABC. The program airs weeknights and is filmed at the El Capitan Entertainment Centre in Hollywood, California. It debuted as part of ABC’s effort to strengthen its late-night lineup and has since become one of the network’s longest-running current entertainment programs.

The show typically opens with a topical monologue from Kimmel, followed by comedy segments, celebrity interviews, and musical performances. Recurring bits such as “Mean Tweets,” elaborate pranks, and street interviews have helped the show gain viral attention online. It is also famous for the “feud” between Kimmel and actor Matt Damon, a running gag that has persisted for over two decades. Additionally, the program frequently airs special-themed episodes and broadcasts following major events.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been hosted by Jimmy Kimmel since its debut in 2003, making him one of the longest-serving late-night hosts in network television history. During its run, the show has featured various guest hosts while Kimmel was unavailable, including Anthony Anderson, Chelsea Handler, and David Spade.

The show’s production features a consistent supporting cast, including sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez and cousin Sal Iacono. The house band, now known simply as The Cletones, remains under the leadership of Cleto Escobedo Jr. following the passing of longtime musical director Cleto Escobedo III in late 2025. Comedian Lou Wilson currently serves as the show’s on-air announcer, having taken over the role from Dicky Barrett in 2022.
