Gigi Salmon was born in November 1976 in the UK. She began her broadcasting career in September 1997 at Radio Oxygen, then moved into sports journalism at talkSPORT as a newsreader, before presenting Chelsea TV for Chelsea F.C.
She built her tennis-commentary career at Radio Wimbledon and BBC Radio 5 Live, covering major tournaments internationally.
In 2023, Salmon was announced as Sky Sports‘ new lead tennis presenter, fronting its coverage of the ATP and WTA Tours and the US Open, alongside continuing contributions to BBC Sport. She also co-hosts the TENNISH podcast with former professional player Naomi Cavaday.
In her own Sky Sports Tennis column, Salmon has described being pregnant with twin boys who were born prematurely (around 2016), and has written about balancing motherhood with a travel-heavy broadcasting career. Reports describe her as married, though her husband’s identity hasn’t been made public.
