Romesh Ranganathan was born on 27 March 1978 in Crawley, West Sussex, England. His parents, Ranga and Sivashanthini Ranganathan are of Sri Lankan Tamil heritage, and he grew up in a multicultural household that later influenced much of his comedy material.
He gained national recognition through television appearances on panel shows and later through his own programmes such as Asian Provocateur, The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan, and the BAFTA-winning Rob & Romesh Vs.
Ranganathan has also hosted several major programmes including The Weakest Link on BBC One, and he presents a weekend show on BBC Radio 2. He frequently appears on comedy panel shows and documentaries across British television.
He lives in West Sussex with his wife, Leesa and their children and often draws inspiration from family life in his comedy routines.
