Jamie Frank Redknapp was born on 25 June 1973 in Barton on Sea, Hampshire, England. His father is football manager Harry Redknapp, and his mother is Sandra Harris; he has one older brother, who is a model. He is also a cousin of Frank Lampard.
A technically skilful, creative midfielder, Redknapp played for AFC Bournemouth, Southampton, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, captaining the latter two, and earned 17 England caps between 1995 and 1999. His most prolific spell was 11 years at Liverpool, making over 300 appearances before injuries forced his retirement in 2005.
Since 2010, he has been a team captain on Sky’s A League of Their Own, alongside host Romesh Ranganathan and Jill Scott. He is also a regular Sky Sports football pundit and a sports columnist for the Daily Mail.
Redknapp married pop singer Louise Nurding in 1998; they had two sons before divorcing in December 2017. In October 2021, he married model Frida Andersson, with whom he has one son.
