Bernardo Osuna Jr. was born in Mexico, and his parents immigrated to the United States with him when he was just 9 months old. He began his broadcasting career in Los Angeles after graduating from Loyola Marymount University in 1994 with double majors in Communication Studies and Spanish Literature. He then joined Univision Los Angeles at 23, becoming a sports director and anchor.
Osuna joined ESPN in August 2011 as a commentator for ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN International. He became the lead bilingual commentator and reporter for ESPN’s boxing coverage, while also contributing as a Los Angeles correspondent. He has hosted or co-hosted boxing programs including Friday Night Fights, Nación ESPN, and A Los Golpes with Julio Cesar Chavez.
His ESPN assignments have taken him well beyond boxing, with coverage of the Olympics, FIFA World Cups, World Series, Super Bowls, NBA Finals, Gold Cups, and UFC events. He has also worked as the voice of Golden Boy Boxing and as a ringside reporter for Top Rank Boxing. Osuna remains with ESPN and was included among the network’s Spanish-language voices for its 2026 FIFA World Cup coverage.
