Fox News @ Night is an American nightly news program that premiered on October 30, 2017, on Fox News Channel. The show was introduced to strengthen the network’s late-evening news coverage, filling a timeslot that had previously carried repeats of Fox News’ 8 p.m. primetime programs. It was a landmark move for the network, establishing original live news coverage in late night for the first time.
Each weekday edition covers the latest developments from Washington, across the United States, and around the world. It also presents breaking news updates, interviews with government officials, lawmakers, journalists, and policy experts, and an examination of the day’s biggest political stories. Additionally, the program features live reports from Fox News correspondents and analysis from contributors with expertise in politics, law, national security, and foreign affairs.
Fox News @ Night launched with Shannon Bream as the founding host in 2017. She helped to establish its emphasis on straight news reporting and substantive interviews. In 2022, she left to become the permanent host of Fox News Sunday. Trace Gallagher then succeeded her, continuing the show’s core format while bringing his own experience as the network’s chief breaking news anchor.
Trace Gallagher remains the program’s current host and is supported by Fox News’ extensive team of correspondents and contributors. Besides hosting Fox News @Night, he also serves as Fox News’ Chief Breaking News Correspondent. In his correspondent role, he has covered several major events, including the 2025 California wildfires, the Israel-Hamas war from Jerusalem, the invasion of Ukraine, and Hurricane Harvey.
