Born in Paramus, New Jersey, Spero Dedes grew up with a deep passion for athletics and sports broadcasting. He attended Paramus High School before graduating from Fordham University in 2001, where he trained under the legendary Marty Glickman. He began his career at WFAN Radio in New York, where he delivered sports updates and served as the New York Jets’ beat reporter.

Dedes joined NBA TV in 2003 as a studio host and play-by-play announcer, and contributed to NBC’s 2004 Athens Olympics. He also and became the radio voice of the Los Angeles Lakers from 2005 to 2011. He then joined CBS Sports full-time in 2011 and also served as the play-by-play voice of the New York Knicks.

Today, Dedes serves as CBS Sports’NFL play-by-play announcer, paired with analyst Adam Archuleta, calling mid-tier AFC and NFC regular-season games. He simultaneously covers NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament games for CBS and serves as an NBA play-by-play voice for TNT Sports, calling regular-season and college basketball games. He also called the international feed of Super Bowl XLI in 2007 alongside Sterling Sharpe.
