Jen Agg was born in Canada and built her career in Toronto’s restaurant industry. After working in hospitality for several years, she opened The Black Hoof in 2008. The restaurant became one of Toronto’s most influential dining destinations and helped establish her reputation for developing distinctive restaurant concepts. She later expanded her portfolio with establishments including Rhum Corner, Grey Gardens, Le Swan, and General Public.

Agg became known beyond the restaurant business through her writing and media appearances. In 2017, she published I Hear She’s a Real Bitch, a memoir examining entrepreneurship, hospitality, and gender in the restaurant industry. Her practical approach to restaurant management made her a frequent commentator on food, hospitality, and business.

In July 2026, Agg joined Food Network as the co-host of Restaurant Impossible: Last Call. She works alongside chef Aarón Sánchez to help struggling restaurants across North America. While Sánchez focuses on the kitchen, Agg leads the redesign, service, branding, and front-of-house operations. The series marked her first major television hosting role and introduced her expertise to a wider audience.
