The Source with Kaitlan Collins is a CNN weekday news program that premiered on July 10, 2023. It launched as part of CNN’s revamped primetime lineup, occupying the 9–10 p.m. ET slot between Anderson Cooper 360° and CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip.
The program focuses heavily on U.S. politics, presidential affairs, breaking news, and major national and international developments. Its format combines Collins’ interviews with political figures and newsmakers, correspondent reports, live coverage, and original reporting. The premiere featured interviews and reporting focused on the 2024 presidential race, including an interview with then-presidential candidate Ron DeSantis.
Collins has remained the program’s primary anchor since its debut. In 2024, CNN re-appointed her to the role of Chief White House Correspondent, while retaining her hosting duties on The Source. She predominantly anchors the program from Washington and also travels with the president for domestic and international assignments.
The program continues to air on CNN in 2026. Recent editions have covered the Trump administration, congressional politics, foreign policy, elections, and major breaking stories, with the program continuing to occupy the 9–10 p.m. ET hour.
