Molly Yeh was born on May 22, 1989, in Glenview, Illinois, to her father, John Bruce Yeh, a Chinese-American musician, and her mother, Jody Yeh. She grew up with a deep love of both music and food. She attended the Juilliard School in New York City, earning a Bachelor of Music in percussion.
While at Juilliard, Molly fell in love with cooking and began documenting her recipes on her blog, My Name Is Yeh. After graduating, she moved to her husband’s family sugar beet farm on the North Dakota–Minnesota border. Her blog quickly grew, earning Saveur’s “Food Blog of the Year” honor in 2015.
The success of her blog led to her debut cookbook, Molly on the Range (2016), which won the IACP Judge’s Choice Award. She has since published three additional cookbooks, including Sweet Farm! in 2025. This was followed by TV roles, including her Food Network series Girl Meets Farm, which premiered in 2018. Yeh has also appeared in other Food Network programs, including Spring Baking Championship, which she hosted in 2022.
