Mike Holmes Jr. was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on July 25, 1989. He is the son of renowned contractor and television personality Mike Holmes. Growing up, he learned the construction trade by working alongside his father on residential renovation projects. Rather than pursuing a traditional college education, Holmes developed his skills through years of hands-on experience in carpentry, demolition, framing, and energy-efficient building practices. 

Holmes made his television debut on Holmes on Homes before taking on increasingly prominent roles across the Holmes family of renovation programs. He later appeared on Holmes Inspection, Holmes Makes It Right, Holmes and Holmes, Holmes: Next Generation, Holmes Family Effect, and Holmes Family Rescue. His practical knowledge, calm approach, and attention to detail have earned him recognition as both a skilled contractor and an engaging television host.

Currently, Mike Holmes Jr. co-hosts Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy alongside his father, Mike Holmes, and sister, Sherry Holmes. The HGTV series follows the family as they help homeowners recover from poor workmanship while teaching viewers proper building techniques. Away from television, Holmes continues working as a professional contractor, supports skilled trades initiatives, and speaks regularly about healthy housing, construction safety, and environmentally responsible building practices.
