Sherry Holmes was born in Ontario, Canada, on June 21, 1987, to renowned contractor Mike Holmes. Despite growing up around construction, she did not get involved in the trade until she was 21 years old. However, she fell completely in love with the trade after helping rebuild homes in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
Holmes first appeared on TV in 2008 in Holmes in New Orleans. She later became a regular co-host on several Holmes Group productions, including Holmes Makes It Right, Holmes and Holmes, Holmes: The Next Generation, and Holmes Family Rescue. Her approachable personality and hands-on expertise have helped make her one of the most recognizable home renovation hosts on HGTV.
Today, Holmes continues to co-host Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy alongside Mike Holmes and Mike Holmes Jr., helping homeowners overcome major construction disasters and poor workmanship. Beyond television, she actively promotes careers in the skilled trades, particularly for women entering the construction industry. She is also an official ambassador for the Meagan Bebenek Foundation, raising awareness and funds for pediatric brain tumor research.
