Lacey Chabert was born in Purvis, Mississippi, and developed a passion for performing at a very young age. At just nine years old, she auditioned for and won the role of young Cosette in the Broadway production of Les Misérables. Her first major TV break was on Fox’s Party of Five (1994–2000). Other acting highlights include her 2004 film role as Gretchen Wieners in Mean Girls, which made her a pop culture icon.
In 2010, Chabert made her Hallmark Channel debut in Elevator Girl, beginning a partnership that has since grown into one of the most prolific in cable television history. She has starred in more than 40 Hallmark films, covering romantic comedies, mysteries, and holiday features. In 2022, she signed an exclusive multi-film deal with Crown Media Family Networks — Hallmark’s parent company. The deal was expanded in 2025 to include film, series, and a product collection sold in Hallmark Gold Crown stores and on Hallmark.com.
Beyond acting, Chabert also hosts and executive produces Celebrations with Lacey Chabert on Hallmark Channel. She also has over 20 producing credits for several Hallmark titles, including all six Wedding Veil films and Sweet Carolina.
