Kevin comes from a farming background in County Tipperary, Ireland, rather than a racing family. His interest in racing was sparked around age 12 when his father bought a mare for £500 from a man in a pub.

Blake presents horse racing coverage for ITV Racing, where he has appeared since the channel’s 2017 relaunch of ITV Racing in 2018, as well as for At The Races and Sky Sports Racing. alongside other staples like Matt Chapman and Sean Boyce. He is also a long-serving racing journalist, having written for Timeform and the Racing Post.

Since 2017, Blake has worked closely with leading Irish trainer Joseph O’Brien as a race planner, consultant and bloodstock agent, helping plan runners’ international campaigns. Alongside his media and consultancy work, he has built Golden Farm into an established thoroughbred stud, having bought his first broodmare as a teenager and spent years learning the breeding business through trial and error.

Blake is married to Deidre, who previously worked as a payroll manager before leaving her job to manage bookkeeping for Golden Farm and his other business interests. He is also a keen marathon runner and amateur boxer.
