Karlie Elizabeth Kloss was born on August 3, 1992, in Chicago, Illinois. She was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, alongside her three sisters. She was discovered at a local charity fashion show as a teenager, which launched her modeling career.

Her major modeling debut came at age 15, when she walked the runway for Calvin Klein during New York Fashion Week in 2007. She is one of the most recognized supermodels worldwide, with a successful career that spans over 40 international Vogue covers, a stint as a Victoria’s Secret Angel (2013–2015), and fronting campaigns for top brands like Dior, Coach, and Nike.

Karlie Kloss made her hosting debut on MTV’s House of Style in 2012. Her most notable television tenure was as the host and executive producer of Project Runway for seasons 17 and 18, succeeding Heidi Klum. She also produced and hosted Movie Night With Karlie Kloss (2017–2018), a Freeform talk/variety series. 

In her personal life, Kloss married businessman Joshua Kushner in October 2018. The couple has three children: Levi Joseph (born 2021), Elijah Jude (born 2023), and their youngest daughter, Rae Florence, who was born in September 2025. She converted to Judaism (her husband’s religion) prior to her marriage
