Cristina Alexander

Profile Overview

Cristina Alexander was born on November 10, 1991, in Houston, Texas. She grew up immersed in both American and Mexican culture, developing fluency in English and Spanish from an early age. She attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, where she worked as a reporter, producer, and anchor at NBC affiliate KOMU 8 News during her final two years of study. After college, she joined Univision Deportes Network as a sports reporter for approximately one year.

Alexander then joined ESPN in June 2015 as a Guadalajara-based correspondent, providing on-the-ground coverage of Mexican soccer clubs. She then transitioned to the studio as co-anchor of ESPN Deportes and ESPN Mexico’s daytime SportsCenter alongside Sergio Dipp. She has since grown into one of ESPN’s most versatile bilingual personalities, covering Champions League, La Liga, MLS, and Liga MX.

Today, Alexander anchors ESPN’s morning SportsCenter edition and hosts La Peña de la Liga and Goles y Más on ESPN’s Spanish-language platforms. She also serves as the play-by-play voice of NWSL matches on ESPN Deportes. In addition, she is the co-host of the women’s soccer show, Futbol W, alongside former USWNT star Ali Krieger.
