Profile Overview

Cara Banks was born in London, England, to Michaeland and Sarah Robinson. She grew up in a sports-immersed household and attended Ashdown House Prep School and then Benenden, an all-girls boarding school in Kent. After university, she began her on-air career in the United Kingdom, where she hosted Golfing World on Sky Sports. She also contributed to BBC Radio 5 Live’s Open Championship coverage and worked on Wimbledon and the 2012 London Olympics.

In 2015, Banks moved to the U.S. to join Golf Channel in Orlando, Florida, as co-host of Morning Drive. She quickly became one of the network’s most recognized faces, hosting Golf Central and Golf Central Live From — an on-site show broadcast from every major championship, the Ryder Cup, and the Presidents Cup. She also contributed to NBC’s Olympic coverage in Tokyo (2021) and Paris (2024). 

In 2025, Banks left Golf Channel after nearly 11 years to join NBC Sports full-time. In her current NBC Sports role, she serves as the lead interviewer and weekend golf host, and also covers Premier League soccer and Olympic events. She also reported from the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black and the 2026 Players Championship.
