The Voice

The Voice is a long-running American music competition series that premiered on NBC in 2011. It was adapted from the Dutch singing competition The Voice of Holland, designed to provide a fresh alternative to traditional music talent searches.

The show is famous for its signature blind auditions, in which the coaches sit in spinning chairs with their backs to the stage, facing away from the performers, ensuring they select singers solely on vocal ability.  This format puts talent first and creates dramatic, memorable moments. It also helps distinguish the show from other singing competitions.

Carson Daly has served as the show’s host since its debut, providing continuity and live-show experience. The coaching panel rotates by season and has included major stars such as John Legend, Reba McEntire, Chance the Rapper, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton.

Over the years, The Voice has launched successful recording artists and helped produce charting singles and hit tours. Famous stars discovered on The Voice include Grammy nominee Cassadee Pope, the sibling trio Girl Named Tom, country music star Morgan Wallen, gospel music singer Koryn Hawthorne, and Melanie Martinez, who released multiple chart-topping albums.
