Sunday Night Baseball

NBC’s weekly primetime MLB franchise delivers the season’s biggest baseball matchups every Sunday on NBC and Peacock.

Sunday Night Baseball on NBC launched in 2026 as part of a three-year MLB rights deal between Major League Baseball and NBCUniversal. The deal brings baseball back to NBC for the first time since the 1990s. Under the arrangement, NBC and Peacock air 27 primetime games per season, alongside 34 afternoon games and a dedicated Wild Card Series.

Each Sunday, the broadcast features one marquee game between two of the season’s top teams. Early and late in the season, games air exclusively on Peacock. However, throughout the summer months, the broadcast moves to NBC,joining Sunday Night Football and Sunday Night Basketball. This makes NBC the first broadcast network to achieve year-round primetime Sunday sports coverage across all three major American leagues.

Each week, the show features a rotating pair of in-booth analysts, each connected to one of the two competing teams. This gives the broadcast a tailored, localised feel rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Jason Benetti leads play-by-play duties for the franchise. A widely respected baseball voice, Benetti is paired each week with the team-specific analysts.

Besides Bennetti, Bob Costas — one of the most celebrated sports broadcasters — serves as studio host alongside Ahmed Fareed. In addition, the show features retired MLB stars Clayton Kershaw, Anthony Rizzo, and Joey Votto, who offer the pregame analysis.
