Spring Baking Championship

Spring Baking Championship is a baking competition show that airs on Food Network. It premiered in 2015 and returns each year as part of Food Network’s seasonal “Baking Championship” franchise. The series celebrates springtime flavors, seasonal ingredients, and bright, creative bakes that capture the season’s mood.

The show features a group of bakers—both professionals and seasoned amateurs—who compete in weekly themed challenges. Episodes typically consist of two rounds: a “Preheat” challenge (a shorter task that tests specific skills or ingredients) and a “Main Heat” challenge (a larger, more elaborate bake centered on a spring theme).

Spring Baking Championship is also organized around themes, which often incorporate floral flavors, fruit-forward desserts, holiday treats (such as Easter), and whimsical interpretations of spring itself. Judges on the show evaluate creations based on flavor, creativity, presentation, and technical execution.

The show is hosted by former NFL quarterback—and television personality—Jesse Palmer, who is currently in his second stint as a host, having previously hosted season 3. Past hosts include Bobby Deen, Ali Khan, Clinton Kelly, and Molly Yeh. Besides the host, the show features a judging panel lineup that includes pastry chef Duff Goldman, chef Kardea Brown, and culinary expert Nancy Fuller.

Spring Baking Championship is part of a larger family of seasonal Food Network baking competitions (including Holiday Baking Championship, The Ultimate Baking Championship, Kids Baking Championship, and Baking Championship: Next Gen). Its emphasis on seasonal ingredients, playful creativity, and visually striking desserts has made it a consistent favorite among baking fans.
