RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs the World

RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs the World is an international all-stars spin-off of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK that first premiered in February 2022. In this reality competition series, standout queens from drag competitions around the globe, many of whom have appeared in various RuPaul’s Drag Race franchises, come together to compete in high-stakes challenges, runway presentations, and performance showdowns for the ultimate title of Queen of the Mothertucking World.

The format blends classic Drag Race elements like maxi challenges and lip-sync battles with strategic gameplay that rewards both creativity and stage presence. Each season features a rotating roster of international talent, showcasing diverse drag styles and cultural influences from across the drag universe.

The show operates under a structure similar to other All Stars and Vs. the World formats: queens compete weekly in themed challenges, and top performers may earn advantages like the golden “RuPeter Badge.”

Unlike the main series, where contestants usually represent a single region, UK vs the World deliberately brings queens from a wide variety of international franchises together, creating fresh rivalries and alliances that highlight the global scope of drag culture. Over the course of its seasons, the series has also experimented with evolving elimination mechanics and twists that keep both the contestants and audiences on their toes.

Season 1 debuted with nine international queens and crowned Blu Hydrangea as the inaugural winner, while Season 2 saw Tia Kofi take the crown in 2024 after another fierce competition. A third season premiered in January 2026 with a new group of ten queens representing drag scenes from countries including the UK, United States, the Philippines, Sweden, Germany, Mexico, and Canada. Beyond the title itself, the queens also compete for increased visibility on the global stage and sometimes additional prizes, such as a cash award introduced in later seasons.

The current host of RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs the World is RuPaul Charles, a cultural icon widely recognized as the face of the entire Drag Race franchise. As host and head judge, RuPaul leads the competition with charisma, humor, and a keen eye for drag excellence, guiding queens through critiques and serving as the central arbiter of who stays and who sashays away.

Alongside RuPaul, the judging panel regularly includes Drag Race mainstays like Michelle Visage, Alan Carr, and Graham Norton, who offer runway evaluations, commentary, and support throughout the competition. This blend of judges brings a mix of fashion insight, comedy, and industry experience to the show, helping to contextualize performances and runway looks for both contestants and viewers.
