Project Runway: Junior

Across its two seasons, Project Runway: Junior aired weekly episodes featuring garment-design tasks that tested contestants’ creativity, technical skills, and ability to work under time constraints. Challenges ranged from creating runway looks with unconventional materials to editorial and themed collections. Each episode concluded with a runway presentation and judging panel evaluation, similar to its parent series.

The series stayed true to Project Runway’s original ethos by combining fashion education and entertainment, giving teenage designers a platform to showcase their talents. Although its format echoed adult fashion competition shows, Junior emphasized mentorship and growth, fostering a supportive environment for emerging designers. Despite its success with young contestants, the series did not return for a third season, ending its run in early 2017.

Project Runway: Junior was co-hosted by mentor Tim Gunn and model Hannah Jeter, who guided the designers through challenges and offered insight into their creative process. The judging panel included celebrated fashion designer Christian Siriano (a Project Runway season winner), Kelly Osbourne, and stylist Aya Kanai. Throughout its run, the series celebrated young talent while reinforcing industry standards of craftsmanship and innovation.
