Let’s Make a Deal Primetime

A primetime extension of CBS’s classic daytime game show, in which costumed contestants make deals with host Wayne Brady for a chance at big prizes.

Let’s Make a Deal Primetime is an American game show that premiered on CBS on October 27, 2020. It is a primetime extension of Let’s Make a Deal — one of the longest-running game shows in television history. The series retains the same format as the daytime version, but frequently features celebrity guests who participate in the deals.

The format is straightforward and fun. Contestants — dressed in outrageous, eye-catching costumes — compete for cash and prizes by making deals with the host. Each deal presents a choice: keep the prize already won or trade it for what’s hidden behind a curtain, inside a box, or wrapped in a mystery package. The catch is that some deals lead to spectacular prizes, while others result in a “Zonk” — a worthless prize. Celebrity guests add a playful twist to the proceedings, participating in special deals and themed segments throughout each episode.

Rather than airing on a fixed weekly schedule, the show airs as special primetime events spread across the CBS calendar. Notable episodes have included a Diamond Jubilee special in January 2024, celebrating the 60th anniversary of Let’s Make a Deal as one of TV’s longest-running game shows. The show also regularly airs as themed specials tied to holidays and major events.

Wayne Brady serves as the host of Let’s Make a Deal Primetime, reprising his role from the daytime series. A multi-talented entertainer, he is widely regarded as one of the most versatile and beloved hosts in game show history. In addition to Brady, the show features announcer Jonathan Mangum, model Tiffany Coyne, and musician Cat Gray.
