House of Villains is an American reality competition series that premiered on E! on October 12, 2023. It was E!’s most successful new series launch in more than three years. The show brings together some of reality television’s most memorable and controversial personalities. Past contestants have included alums of shows like Survivor, The Real Housewives, The Challenge, Love Is Blind, and more.
Contestants live under one roof, competing for a $200,000 prize and the title of America’s Ultimate Supervillain. Each week, the villains compete in a Battle Royale — a physical, mental, and emotional challenge that determines the week’s most powerful player.
The winner earns the title of Supervillain of the Week and places three fellow contestants on the Hit List. Those three then compete in a Redemption Challenge, with the winner earning safety. The remaining two face a banishment vote from the rest of the house, and one is sent home. The process continues until one villain is left standing — and crowned champion.
Seasons 1 and 2 aired on E!, with Season 1 concluding in late 2023 with Tanisha Thomas crowned as the first winner. Season 2 followed in October 2024, again on E!, with a two-night premiere. For Season 3 — which premiered in 2026— the show moved to Peacock, marking its transition from cable to streaming.
Joel McHale has hosted all three seasons of House of Villains. Best known for his roles in Community and The Soup, McHale brings sharp, irreverent humour to the hosting role — perfectly suited to the show’s tongue-in-cheek celebration of villainy.
