Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service

Gordon Ramsay goes undercover, using surveillance technology and a secret insider, to observe and expose the problems facing struggling restaurants.

Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service is an American reality series that premiered on Fox on May 21, 2025. It is the latest entry in Gordon Ramsay’s long-running partnership with Fox — a relationship that stretches back to 2005. The series draws clear comparisons to his earlier restaurant-rescue series, Kitchen Nightmares. The key difference is the undercover element: rather than walking into a struggling restaurant as himself, Ramsay observes the operation in secret before revealing his identity and taking action.

Each episode focuses on a single struggling restaurant. Ramsay and his team recruit a secret insider — a current staff member willing to feed information and grant after-hours access — who remains anonymous to the rest of the restaurant throughout filming. Restaurants are led to believe they are being filmed for a separate renovation programme called Restaurant Refresh, keeping Ramsay’s involvement entirely hidden until the reveal.

Using surveillance footage, hidden cameras, and a black light after-hours kitchen inspection, Ramsay builds a complete, unfiltered picture of everything going wrong — from hygiene failures and mismanaged kitchens to toxic staff dynamics and struggling ownership. Once he has gathered enough evidence, he steps in — dramatically revealing his identity and confronting the restaurant’s issues head-on.

His approach goes beyond a physical renovation and menu overhaul; the show consistently frames the human element — fractured partnerships, resistant owners, burned-out staff — as the central challenge. Whether the restaurant and its people are willing to change is the question that drives each episode to its resolution. Ramsay is joined throughout the series by secret diners Rock Harper — a former Hell’s Kitchen winner and restaurateur — and Sammi Tarantino, who gather ground-level intelligence inside the restaurants ahead of Ramsay’s intervention.
