Field Trip with Curtis Stone

Michelin-starred chef Curtis Stone travels the world to find ingredients and culinary inspiration for his Beverly Hills restaurant, Maude.

Field Trip with Curtis Stone is a food-and-travel documentary series featuring Australian chef Curtis Stone as he journeys to culinary destinations around the world. The program first aired in 2019 on PBS. It features several episodes in which Stone explores distinct regions to uncover local food traditions, producers, and inspirations that inform his own restaurant menus.

The series follows Stone and his team as they visit places such as Australia’s Margaret River, the Italian countryside of Lombardy and Umbria, Spain’s Rioja region, and California’s Central Coast. Each episode focuses on the flavors, techniques, and ingredients that define a region’s food culture, with Stone meeting farmers, artisanal producers, chefs, and local experts.

Travel segments mix hands-on experiences—such as foraging, fishing, and learning traditional techniques—with conversations about culinary heritage and sustainability. The journeys are shaped around the way these influences are brought back to Stone’s culinary home base, his acclaimed restaurants.

In addition to traditional episodes, specials have been produced, such as Field Trip with Curtis Stone: Hong Kong, which features Stone exploring that city’s historic food culture, from dumpling makers to modern dining innovators. These specials expand the series’ global perspective and highlight Stone’s interest in diverse culinary traditions.
