Beach Bites with Katie Lee

Katie Lee Biegel travels to coastal destinations across the US and beyond, discovering the best local beach food, seafood, and regional specialties.

Beach Bites with Katie Lee is a food travelogue and reality series that aired on the Cooking Channel. The program premiered with a pilot on August 21, 2015, followed by a full season debut on June 2, 2016, and ran for three successful seasons before concluding in 2018. Produced by BSTV Entertainment, the show was designed to combine Katie Lee’s passion for surfing and coastal living with her expertise as a culinary critic and chef.

The show follows Katie as she “beach hops” across global and domestic shores, focusing on the intersection of geography and flavor. Each half-hour episode takes one of two forms — either a deep dive into a single coastal destination, or a themed episode exploring one food category across multiple beach locations.

Destination episodes have taken Lee to Tybee Island in Georgia, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the South Carolina Lowcountry, Catalina Island in California, Nassau in the Bahamas, and the Pacific Coast Highway, among many others. Themed episodes, on the other hand, have covered spicy beach dishes, grilled and barbecued foods, freshly caught seafood, and family recipe traditions from coastal communities. The show also highlights local restaurants, street food vendors, fishermen, and chefs tied to each featured destination, with Lee interviewing chefs to learn the secrets behind iconic beach fare.

Katie Lee serves as the sole host and executive producer, bringing a lifestyle-oriented approach to the travelogue genre. Throughout the series, she is occasionally joined by notable culinary peers and friends, including Food Network stars like Bobby Flay and Amanda Freitag, who appear in specific segments or as guest contributors.
