America’s Culinary Cup is a CBS original culinary competition series that premiered on March 4, 2026. It is the first cooking competition to air on CBS in over a decade. The show also offers the largest cash prize ever awarded in the genre — $1 million — making it one of the most high-stakes culinary competitions in television history.
The series features 16 invitation-only chefs — drawn from Michelin-starred restaurants, James Beard Award winners and nominees, and Bocuse d’Or medalists. The chefs compete across ten culinary commandments: meat, vegetables, sauces, dessert, innovation, flavors, sustainability, world cuisine, consistency, and culinary science and technology.
Each episode centres on one commandment, with the lowest-performing chef facing elimination through a head-to-head cook-off. Safe chefs also play a strategic role, pairing up rivals for elimination matches — adding a layer of gameplay beyond pure cooking. The show features permanent judges Michael Cimarusti and Wylie Dufresne, who evaluate taste, creativity, presentation, and technique in each episode.
Padma Lakshmi is the creator, host, and executive producer of America’s Culinary Cup. She is best known as the host of Top Chef on Bravo, a role she held for 19 seasons from 2006 to 2023. Notable Season 1 competitors include Top Chef winner Buddha Lo and chefs Keith Corbin, Emily Yuen, and Katie Button
