99 to Beat is a competitive game show that premiered on Fox in 2025. The series draws inspiration from the Belgian format under the same name. The original format has also been adapted in multiple other countries, including Germany, Norway, Poland, and the UK.
The series brings together 100 contestants who compete in quirky physical and skill-based challenges. Unlike traditional competition shows that reward the top performer, the format focuses on survival. Contestants only need to avoid finishing last in each round.
Each episode features a variety of games that test coordination, concentration, balance, speed, and problem-solving. Challenges are intentionally simple but unpredictable, such as stacking objects, completing small tasks under time pressure, or maintaining balance during unusual activities. Because everyone competes simultaneously, the format creates chaotic, fast-paced gameplay.
At the end of every round, the contestant who finishes last is eliminated from the competition. The remaining players move on to the next challenge, and the process repeats until only one competitor remains. As the number of contestants shrinks, the stakes and pressure increase, making even small mistakes potentially costly.
Ken Jeong and Erin Andrews serve as co-hosts of 99 to Beat. Jeong is a physician-turned-comedian and actor best known for The Hangover film franchise and Community, and is also a panelist on FOX’s The Masked Singer. Andrews is a veteran sports broadcaster and television personality who hosted Dancing with the Stars from 2014 to 2019 and currently serves as a FOX NFL sideline reporter.
