Zoe Salmon was born on 7 January 1980 in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. She attended Kilmaine Primary School and Glenlola Collegiate School while growing up in Bangor, a seaside town she describes as her “favourite place.” She has three siblings — Lara, Naomi, and Julian — all born within five years of each other. Her parents are named Joe and Priscilla.

She then attended Queen’s University, Belfast, where she gained a 2:1 degree in law, before qualifying as a solicitor. She also completed a postgraduate degree in Professional Legal Studies at Queen’s University Belfast, and later graduated from the world-acclaimed Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles.

Salmon became the 30th Blue Peter presenter when she joined the show on 23 December 2004, in its Christmas special. She was originally meant to replace Liz Barker when the latter left on maternity leave; however, Barker had already returned by the time Salmon made her debut. She presented the show with Konnie Huq, Simon Thomas, Matt Baker, Liz Barker, Gethin Jones, and Andy Akinwolere.

Aside from presenting, Zoe made her Hollywood movie debut in Get Him to the Greek alongside Russell Brand, Rose Byrne, Jonah Hill, and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. She has also played the title lead role in Bill Kenwright’s production of Cinderella to sell-out audiences.

Zoe and her husband William Corrie live in a beautiful countryside home in County Down, Northern Ireland, and are in the process of designing their “dream forever home” on farmland next to their current home. Their son Fitz can look forward to an idyllic outdoorsy childhood on the family’s two farms, which span approximately one thousand acres.
