Yvette Fielding was born on 23 September 1968 in Stockport, Cheshire, to Angela and Alan Fielding. She grew up in Bramhall, where she attended Pownall Green Primary School and Bramhall High School. As a teenager, she worked as a hotel cleaner in Wilmslow and as a barmaid in Cheadle Hulme and Macclesfield.
Fielding’s first major role came in 1983 when she was cast in the children’s BBC series Seaview, a comedy-drama about a teenage girl growing up in her parents’ guest house in Blackpool. The show ran for two series. In 1987, Fielding became the youngest ever presenter on Blue Peter, starting on 29 June 1987, three months before her 19th birthday.
During her time on Blue Peter, Fielding won the SOS Award for the Most Popular Woman on Television, competing with Cilla Black, Victoria Wood, and Kylie Minogue. In 2002, Yvette and her husband Karl Beattie started their own TV production company, Antix Productions. Their first show was Most Haunted for the Living channel.
The family resides on a farm in Sandbach, Cheshire. Yvette continues to work as a presenter, producer, and author, maintaining an active profile in British television.
