Wilfred Frost was born on 7 August 1985 in London, United Kingdom. His father was the legendary broadcaster Sir David Frost, best known for his historic interviews with former US President Richard Nixon. His mother, Lady Carina Fitzalan-Howard, belongs to the prominent Fitzalan-Howard family, historically associated with the Dukes of Norfolk. His parents raised three sons: Miles, Wilfred, and George.
Growing up, Wilfred had the rare experience of meeting world leaders at the family’s 21-acre Michelmersh Court estate in the south of England, where guests including Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Tony Blair, and George H.W. Bush were regular visitors. He attended the prestigious Eton College before going on to the University of Oxford, where he earned a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
Before entering broadcasting, Wilfred worked as a Fund Manager at BNY Investments Newton in London from 2009 to 2014. In 2014 he made a career shift and joined CNBC, initially co-anchoring Worldwide Exchange from London before moving to the United States in 2016. By 2018 he was co-anchoring Closing Bell, one of CNBC’s flagship shows. In March 2022 he returned to London and joined Sky News as a presenter.
Away from presenting, Wilfred is CEO of Paradine Productions, originally founded by his father in the early 1960s, and serves as Executive Producer of David Frost Vs, a documentary series revisiting his father’s most iconic interview moments.
He also co-founded the Miles Frost Fund in 2016, alongside his brother George, in memory of their brother Miles and father Sir David, both of whom died from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. In partnership with the British Heart Foundation, the fund raised £1.5 million and funded the UK’s first NHS HCM testing centre, based in Belfast.
