Vicky Gomersall was born on 31 December 1971 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. She attended Cheltenham Bournside School and graduated with a degree in English and Drama.

She began her broadcasting career at the BBC in Manchester, working on regional sports coverage and BBC Sport 24, before joining Sky Sports News — reported variously as 2002, 2004, or 2005 — initially as a reporter before moving into a full-time presenting role.

She presented Sportswomen, a weekly Sky Sports News show that focused on women in sport, and has covered major football, cricket, and athletics events, including reporting from Anfield on the day of Liverpool legend Emlyn Hughes’s death.

A former footballer herself, she played for Fulham Ladies and represented Cheltenham at district-level athletics. She is a supporter of both Liverpool FC and her hometown club, Cheltenham Town. She serves as an ambassador for Cure For Dylan and Sparks Charity.
