Vick Hope was born on 25 September 1989 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. She is the daughter of Nigel Hope, an English writer, and Adeline Nwosu, a Nigerian activist, and grew up with three younger brothers.
She studied modern languages at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, where she developed fluency in French, Spanish, and Portuguese. During her year abroad in Buenos Aires, she began her media career as a journalist, becoming the youngest reporter at an English-language newspaper.
Hope transitioned into broadcasting, working with MTV before moving into mainstream UK television and radio. She became widely known for hosting shows on BBC Radio 1, including the drivetime programme Going Home with Vick, Katie and Jamie.
She has presented numerous TV programmes including Pointless, The One Show, and Vick Hope’s Breakfast Show on ITV. In 2025, she joined Countryfile on BBC One as a permanent presenter.
She is married to DJ Calvin Harris and they have one child, born in 2025. She continues her broadcasting, writing career, and philanthropic engagements while balancing her home life.
