Touker Suleyman was born on 4 August 1953 in Famagusta, Cyprus, into a Turkish Cypriot family. He moved to London as a child and grew up in South London, where his family worked in the restaurant business.
He attended Peckham Manor Secondary School and faced early health challenges, including a serious hand infection. These experiences, along with his father’s work ethic, shaped his drive to succeed in business.
Suleyman began his business career in the fashion industry, eventually founding Low Profile Group in the 1980s. He later acquired struggling brands such as Hawes & Curtis (2001) and Ghost (2008), turning them into profitable companies.
In 2015, he joined Dragons’ Den (BBC) as an investor, where entrepreneurs pitch for funding. He is known for his retail expertise and direct investment style.
He lives in London and maintains a relatively private personal life, focusing on business ventures and mentoring entrepreneurs.
