He rose to prominence in 1997 on the BBC gardening show Ground Force, alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock, which ran until 2005 and made him a household name.

Following this success, Walsh hosted multiple DIY and property programmes, including Tommy Walsh’s Eco House and Cowboys and Angels, establishing himself as a trusted expert in home renovation.

In 2021, he joined Homes Under the Hammer on BBC One as part of a presenter shake-up, bringing his construction expertise to the long-running property auction series until 2024.

In recent years, Walsh has faced health challenges, including cancer diagnoses, but has continued to work on television and other projects.
