Tina Daheley

Profile Overview

Daheley was raised in Perivale, West London, in a Sikh Punjabi family. She joined the BBC in 2007 and initially worked behind the scenes in television production before becoming an on-air presenter. Early in her career she reported on women’s football and co-presented the political debate programme Free Speech on BBC Three.

Daheley later became a news presenter across BBC radio networks, delivering news and sports bulletins on BBC Radio 1’s breakfast shows, including programmes hosted by Chris Moyles and Nick Grimshaw. In 2019 she joined BBC Radio 2 as the newsreader on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show and also presents Points of View.

Beyond news, she has hosted programmes such as Crimewatch, Woman’s Hour, and The Cultural Frontline on the BBC World Service. She has also worked on election coverage, royal events, and sports broadcasting.

She now regularly presents bulletins on BBC One, including BBC News at Six, BBC News at Ten, and BBC Weekend News, and also appears as a presenter on BBC Breakfast.

Tina Daheley is currently engaged to her partner Kane William-Smith, whom she met in Ibiza in 2012. The couple has one daughter.
