Timothy Medhurst was born in June 1991 in Dorset, England. From a young age, he developed a passion for antiques after his grandmother showed him a Victorian coin, sparking his lifelong interest in history and collectibles.
He began his career in the antiques trade working for leading auction houses, including Reeman Dansie and Duke’s Auctioneers, where he specialised in coins, medals, and valuations. Over nearly a decade, he built expertise and helped develop specialist departments.
Medhurst later founded his own business, Timothy Medhurst Coins and Antiquities Ltd, offering consultancy and auctioneering services across the UK. His expertise in numismatics (coin collecting) made him a respected figure in the antiques industry.
He rose to wider fame as a regular expert on Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, broadcast on BBC One and BBC Two, where antiques dealers travel and compete to make profit at auction.
