Tej Lalvani was born in July 1974 in London, England. He is the son of Kartar Lalvani, founder of Vitabiotics, which influenced his early exposure to business.
He was educated in the UK and later joined the family company, Vitabiotics, where he eventually became CEO. Under his leadership, the company expanded internationally, becoming one of the UK’s leading vitamin and supplement brands.
In 2017, he joined Dragons’ Den (BBC Two/BBC One) as an investor. During his time on the show (2017–2021), he invested in several startups, particularly those focused on health, lifestyle, and consumer products.
Outside television, Lalvani has served as a business ambassador for the UK government, promoting entrepreneurship and international trade.
He lives between the UK and Dubai, maintaining a relatively private family life while continuing to lead business ventures.
