Tayshia Adams was born on September 4, 1990, in Newport Beach, California. She grew up in Santa Ana with her parents, Desmond and Rosario Adams, and three siblings. Adams attended Rosary Academy before earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Concordia University Irvine in 2012. Before television, she worked as a fitness instructor and phlebotomist while pursuing a more active lifestyle.

Adams entered Bachelor Nation in 2019 as a contestant on season 23 of The Bachelor. She later appeared on Bachelor in Paradise before becoming the lead of Season 16 of The Bachelorette in 2020, making history as the franchise’s second Black lead. She went on to co-host Seasons 17 and 18 of The Bachelorette alongside Kaitlyn Bristowe following Chris Harrison’s departure.

Beyond the Bachelor franchise, Adams has hosted the MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted special, competed on The $100,000 Pyramid, and co-hosted Live From E!: Oscars After Party.
