Tamera Mowry-Housley was born in Gelnhausen, West Germany, two minutes before her twin sister Tia, to a U.S. Army father and a mother who would later manage the twins’ careers. When the girls were 12, the family relocated to Los Angeles so they could pursue acting. The sisters landed their breakout roles on Sister, Sister, which ran for six seasons from 1994 to 1999.

After Sister, Sister, Tamera Mowry-Housley built a diverse acting portfolio. She starred in Lifetime’s Strong Medicine (2000–2006), Disney Channel’s Twitches (2005) and its sequel, and reunited with Tia for the Style Network reality series Tia & Tamera (2011–2013). Her most significant hosting role came in 2013, when she joined daytime talk show The Real, co-hosting for six seasons.

Since 2020, Mowry-Housley has been a key Hallmark Channel partner under an exclusive multi-film and production deal. She has starred in several film titles, including The Santa Stakeout (2021), Inventing the Christmas Prince (2022), Dream Moms (2023), and Scouting for Christmas (2024), many of which she also executive-produced. She also hosts Hallmark Channel’s holiday baking series,  Baked With Love: Holiday.
