Sarah Greene was born on 24 October 1957 in St Pancras, London, England. She is the daughter of Welsh DIY expert Harry Greene and English actress Marjie Lawrence, and sister to presenter Laura Greene.
She was educated at Grey Coat Hospital School in London before studying Drama at the University of Hull. She initially pursued acting, appearing in stage and television productions before transitioning into presenting.
Greene rose to national fame in 1980 as one of the youngest presenters of Blue Peter. She later hosted popular BBC shows including Saturday Superstore and Going Live!, becoming one of the most recognisable faces of British television.
In 2023, she returned to mainstream television as co-host of The Finish Line on BBC One, alongside Roman Kemp.
She lives in the UK and remains active in broadcasting, charity work, and occasional acting, while maintaining a relatively private personal life.
