Richie Driss was born on 28 November 1988 in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Detailed information about his parents is not publicly available, though he has mentioned growing up in a small family, and that when his parents split up, he lived in a refuge.
After graduating in Film and Television Studies from Aberystwyth University in 2010, Richie worked in local radio and later launched his own series on GRM Daily. He then joined Joe Media in 2016 as a presenter and producer, contributing to weekly broadcasts and digital content including interviews with Hollywood celebrities and original video series.
Driss joined Blue Peter as its 38th presenter, making his debut on CBBC on 16 May 2019, replacing Radzi Chinyanganya. His tenure on Blue Peter featured high-profile challenges, such as training to climb the sea stack Old Man of Hoy in Orkney — an endeavour that contributed to the programme winning the Royal Television Society (RTS) North West Centre Award for Best Factual Entertainment in 2022.
On 3 February 2023, Driss announced he would leave Blue Peter, with his last show airing on 3 March. On 25 March 2024, the BBC announced he would be joining BBC Radio 1 as part of the Friday Early Breakfast line-up. As of late 2025, Driss continues as a freelance presenter, actively pursuing opportunities across television and radio.
