Rebecca Lowe was born on November 11, 1980, in Ealing, west London, the daughter of BBC News presenter Chris Lowe. Initially pursuing an acting career, she pivoted to sports broadcasting in 2002 after winning the BBC Television Talent Search for a football reporter. She spent five years at the BBC before joining Setanta Sports in 2007 and ESPN UK in 2009. At ESPN, she made history as the first woman in British television to host the FA Cup Final live from Wembley Stadium in May 2012.
NBC Sports brought her to the United States in 2013 to front their Premier League coverage, a role she continues to hold. She also serves as NBC’s daytime host for the Summer and Winter Olympic Games — a run stretching from Sochi 2014 through to Milan-Cortina 2026. In December 2025, Fox Sports announced she would join their broadcast team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, on loan from NBC.
On a personal note, Lowe is married to English football manager Paul Buckle. The couple has a son, Edward “Teddy” Buckle, and lives in El Dorado Hills, California. In March 2022, both Lowe and her husband became naturalized American citizens while retaining their British citizenship.
