Rachel Corsie

Profile Overview

Rachel Louise Corsie was born on 17 August 1989 in Aberdeen, Scotland. She began playing football locally with Stonehaven before joining Aberdeen Ladies, turning professional with Glasgow City in 2008 at age 18.

Over an 18-year playing career, Corsie represented nine clubs across four countries: Scotland (Glasgow City), England (Notts County, Birmingham City, Aston Villa), the United States (Seattle Reign, Utah Royals, Kansas City Current), and Australia (Canberra United, on loan).

She made her senior Scotland debut in 2009 and went on to earn 154 caps, captaining the national team for many years, including at their first-ever FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019 and UEFA Euro 2017. She joined Aston Villa in January 2022, where she played until her retirement following Scotland’s 2025 Nations League fixtures against Austria and the Netherlands, citing years of injuries including multiple knee surgeries.

Alongside football, Corsie qualified as a Chartered Accountant and worked in audit at EY, balancing a professional career off the pitch with elite sport. Since retiring, she has moved into broadcasting, working as a pundit and analyst for Sky Sports’ WSL coverage, along Izzy and Barker, as well as the BBC and RTÉ, drawing on her playing experience, tactical knowledge, and business background. Corsie is reportedly engaged to Scottish squash player Lisa Aitken.
